About Long Island

Stunning view across the crystal clear ocean to the ring of islands that surround Long Island

Long Beach stretches for 7 glorious kilometres. In the background is the Australian mainland.

The 4 bedroom house nestled amongst lush greenery.

One of Queensland’s largest coastal islands, Long Island is also one of the most beautiful and has great potential for tourism.

Situated between Mackay and Rockhampton at the Southern end of the Whitsunday Region, the island has easy access to airports, provisions, services and other tourist destinations.

Already approved for a low key tourist resort (since lapsed), Long Island has so much to offer – plenty of  fresh water, six soft white sandy beaches (up to 7 km long), sheltered coves, abundant fishing in the river and ocean, many varieties of wildlife and fantastic diving.

Long Island is also an established working farm with bores, fencing, good soil and further agricultural development possible.
